DIAS Update: May 2016

Tax Deductibility:

EmmaBaby

We are very happy to announce that the Australian Charities and not for Profit Commission (ACNC) and the Australian Tax Office (ATO) have classified us as a Public Benevolent Institution and this now means that all donations and gifts over $2 now qualify for a tax deductible receipt. So, you now have an added incentive to support our work and increase the value of that donation!Emma Quinn’s medical camp:

Thanks to you, our generous donors and faithful supporters, Emma Quinn, a medical student from the USA held a dental, eye and general medical camp (clinic) in Namasumbi a very rural and isolated village in Uganda.

Peter Michael, one of our partners facilitated and set up the camp. On the day, 498 patients were treated.

These people would never have been able to have this treatment had it not been for Emma and these generous donors. You have changed the lives of people you may never meet or could thank you. But we do, on their behalf.

A clearer way to see what we are doing:

We Partner with 3 very different communities across Uganda and Kenya and they each have different projects and needs.

To reduce any confusion, we have remodeled and edited our website and Facebook pages in an effort to clarify our Partners, their Projects and their needs.

From now on you can search by Partner, by Project or by activity. You can read about their work and you can specify where and how your donation is to be allocated.

On our Home page you will see current projects and fund-raising activities, and on the Donate page you can donate unspecified general funds that allows us to allocate it as we prioritise the needs.

Our regular Facebook posts will also highlight the fund-raising items.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our Partners and for your patience as we continue to improve our systems.
