Make an immediate impact

Please support our urgent need to keep the Early Childhood Development Centre open. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of Kisumu’s most vulnerable babies and mums.

Partner with us

Our connections with friends, families, donors and corporate sponsors have a profound ripple effect on everything we do. Together, we achieve more and amplify positive impact.

If the Early Childhood Development Centre is a project that you or your company are passionate about, please reach out. We’d love to explore this partnership opportunity with you.

Your monthly investment will provide essential items such as formula, diapers, and clothing for the babies, as well as counseling and support for their mothers. It will also cover the costs of maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment for all the residents.

The current monthly cost of running the home is $5000 but there are many more mums and babies in need of its services. To accommodate more residents and staff, we anticipate a varying and increasing cost of up to $10 000. There are a number of ways in which we can recognize your generosity and you’ll receive detailed reports and updates about your impact.

Kisumu, Kenya

Welcome to a very special home

On the shores of the beautiful Lake Victoria is where you’ll find the Early Childhood Development Centre. With cozy cribs and cheerfully painted walls, this home has become a haven of refuge for Kisumu’s most vulnerable babies and young mums. Before, they had nowhere to go. Tragically, many young mums in Kenya are chased away from their homes in shame. Often, they’re forced to flee after suffering sexual and domestic abuse.

We created the ECD with our Community Partners to give these young women hope – and a chance for their children to grow up healthy and happy. It’s important to say that the ECD is not an orphanage. Rather, it’s a place of prevention and care, encouraging young mothers to keep their children.

Safe in loving arms

Frank and Lindah have a heart for those who can’t help themselves. This incredible husband and wife team run the ECD which was intentionally built near their home. Here, they hope for children to be raised by the same ‘mamma’ so they can experience what it means to have a family.

Their team of dedicated and highly trained caregivers work tirelessly to ensure that each child receives the love and attention they deserve. During the day, the babies are cared for by the staff while their mums complete their schooling. In the afternoon, the mums can play with their little ones and learn about motherhood in a safe, supportive space.

Wavemaker is our program for those who want to make a long-term, high-impact change in the communities we support. We’re not quick-fixers. We’re in it for the long haul!
