Huge Progress on Uganda Projects

Since the return of the team that went to Uganda in June a lot more has happened:

The New Seasons Pharmacy which was a bare shell without windows is now painted and tiled and about to furnished. This business venture will become the income stream for a School in the outer slums of Kampala where more than 30 children are receiving an education that will potentially lift them out of an otherwise inevitable cycle of poverty.

While over there our team facilitated the employment of a Project Manager and Consultant and our partner Haggai is now close to attaining certification by the National Drug Authority and employing staff to run this business. So not only will it pay the wages of the School but it will create employment at the Pharmacy as well.

Our new partner Peter Michael engaged us to compile a master plan for his community centre and Jamie Baker has been hard at work putting this together. This centre has many components to it including a clinic, 2 schools with sports ground, a rehabilitation centre, a hall and staff accommodation.

With this master plan Peter will now be able to clearly communicate his vision and plan with key stakeholders. Funding can be appropriately allocated and his staff motivated to engage in the vision of the organisation.

Droplets In A Stream has agreed to assist Peter in setting up a sustainable business plan to fund these components. The funds from this year’s Tour Of Hope will be allocated to a component of this Project.

See the master plan here.

This year’s Grand Tour of Hope is raising funds to build the Weema Clinic, part of the greater KCM facility.
