Four child sacrifice victims in Kyampisi have been waiting for years.
Waiting for justice. Waiting.
Their cases have been stalled – their investigations unresolved.
And now finally, with your help, that’s about to change.
The Ugandan courts have agreed to a special hearing, where the stories of these child sacrifice victims will finally be heard.
This sort of hearing involving child sacrifice and trafficking cases will be the first of its kind in Uganda and is a major breakthrough not only for these children, but also for the eradication of this evil practice.
The court has given one week’s notice to prepare for these proceedings, which means we don’t have long to raise enough funds to cover the costs of these court proceedings.
We have an urgent need to raise $40,000 to cover:
- Lawyer fees
- Court application fees
- Counselling for the victims who will now be witnesses
- Any other costs associated with the case
- Trauma counselling and training sessions for the Kyampisi Childcare Ministries (KCM) staff. The KCM team need help to build up their skills in dealing with the horrific events and scenes that they face on a daily basis.
You have an opportunity to make history today and take a huge step forward in stamping out child sacrifice in Uganda. These cases could set a strong precedent and increase awareness about this issue nationally, and change the tide in the country.
